Goal
Secure one informational interview or a formal referral from an employee within your target company list.
Setup
Log into your LinkedIn profile and open your list of five priority target companies.
Exercise Instructions
1) Search for your target company and filter results by 'People' and '2nd connections'. 2) Identify a person in a similar role or department to your target job. 3) Look for mutual connections and send a short message to your shared contact asking for a brief introduction. 4) If no bridge exists, draft a personalized connection request focusing on a specific piece of their shared content or a professional milestone.
Coach Tip
Keep your initial reach-out under 75 words to respect their time and increase your response rate.
