Setup
Compile a list of three specialized search firms that focus specifically on your target industry or function.
Exercise Instructions
1) Audit your LinkedIn profile to ensure your 'About' section clearly states your industry expertise and specific ROI. 2) Craft a brief outreach message highlighting a recent major achievement and your specialized background. 3) Reach out to one partner-level recruiter per firm with a 'market check' or inquiry about their current portfolio. 4) Offer to be a source for other candidates to build initial social capital.
Coach Tip
Keep your first message brief and executive-ready; the goal is to get on their radar, not to ask for a job immediately.
