Goal
Identify three non-obvious insights about the company's culture or business challenges to use in your next interview.
Setup
Open a blank document and paste the company name at the top with a link to their 'News' page. Search for the company name followed by 'layoffs', 'funding', or 'glassdoor reviews' to see what people are saying outside of their official PR.
Exercise Instructions
1. Use Google Search operators like 'site:glassdoor.com [Company Name]' to find candid employee feedback. 2. Search '[Company Name] + challenge' or '[Company Name] + competitor' to identify their market pressure points. 3. Look for recent interviews or podcasts featuring the CEO to hear their current priorities in their own words. 4. Note three specific facts or trends you discovered that were not mentioned on their homepage.
Coach Tip
Look for patterns in employee reviews; if the same pros or cons appear across multiple platforms, they are likely true.
